Dear Friends,

The stability of American democracy is important for peace and security in the world. No matter how the US election turns out assaults on democracy, freedom, peace and security will likely continue. Thus, protecting and advancing these values and the institutions that express them has become increasingly necessary.

Additionally, making sure that human civilization continues remains an ever-present duty. Thus, diminishing the threat posed by nuclear weapons and continued progress to obtain a nuclear weapons-free world can never be ignored.

We urge your attention to the articles below by GSI Advisors Dr. Jane Goodall and Bishop William Swing as well as Board Member Ambassador Thomas Graham Jr.

With Respect,

But is it an effective political strategy? Could Donald Trump’s anti-democracy tactics be a conscious attempt to destabilize things enough to get back into power?"

Why Aren’t Nuclear Weapons a Key Issue in This Election?

A recent sermon by the Rt. Reverend William E. Swing asks why the threat of nuclear weapons is not part of the election debate. "Shortly, we will elect a president of the United States," he says. Among the myriad responsibilities that go with the office, none is of greater magnitude than the use of nuclear weapons. Either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump will, shortly, have the prerogative of starting a nuclear war, or not. Soon, one of their hands will be hovering over the button. Nothing, nothing is as crucial at this election time as to where Trump and Harris stand on the use of nuclear weapons.
